Billet aluminum distributor
I run a Chevy V8 (excuse me please), Vortech blower up to 12 p.s.i., MSD ignition and seldom rev. > 5000 rpm.
What would be the advantages and if any, disadvantages, of replacing the standard distributor which is still working fine ? |
It will help relieve that itch which you get when it's been too long since you've spent large sums of money on your car.
Seriously, what type of distributor are you presently running? Is it an original points-type system or some form of electronic ignition? Points systems require periodic maintenance but then are more "original" if you are into originality. Electronic systems are usually more reliable but are more expensive initially. Are you having any problems with it, like poor starting or cutting out during acceleratiion? If it's working OK, looks good and isn't giving you any problems, and especially if you seldom get the engine above 5,000 rpm, why bother? |
