4 post lift/low air dam clearance?
Hey All,
I have read all prior posts on 4 post vs 2 post lifts and am wondering if anyone has a vehicle with a low front spoiler/air dam and uses a 4 post lift? I am less worried about the Cobra than I am with one of my other cars. The spoiler loves to scrape if it can. I know I could extend the ramps with some 2x6s, but was wondering if it is needed, or there are more elegant solutions. I am looking at Autolifters, Rotary, and will do some digging on Eagle as well. |
I have a four post lift from lifts unlimited.
It was easily asembled and comes with 36"ramps which accomodate low spoilers very well. 97 TT porsche on top has no problem and has a low chin spoiler. I ordered the lift by phone and they have a website liftsunlimited.com . I am very happy with it and the company is very easy to deal with. I would recomend you look at this one. I would recommend the 240 volt pump as it is faster than the 110. I didn't think 30 seconds matter in lift speed but it does |
Thanks Charly, I will take a look at their site. Funnty you mention your Twin Turbo, the air dam I am talking about is on my '88 Slantnose Turbo.
<http://www.pelicanparts.com/gallery/ToyCollector> It is almost unstreetable it so low--straight from the factory like that to boot. It's not a 97 TT though :) I will have a 220/240 wire dropped from ceiling, so 220 are in the plans |
Hello,
I just bout a Gemini from Aresco in Walled Lake Michigan. Its great. 36" ramps the height of the platform is 4" so the cobra and c4 vette (with low air dam) go up with no problem. Good luck. Jeff |
ToyCollector...I was checking the option list for my STINGER 4 post lift and they have a separate 44" long drive on ramp as an 'option' which allows drive on entrance ground clearance for as low as 3" (their standard drive on ramps are 32" which does not allow as low a clearance). perhaps the other mfr's also have extended drive on ramps for improved low ground clearance. see : www.stingerlifts.com Bill.
