I need a custom drive shaft ...
I won't begin why I need a new drive shaft, perhaps I will save it as part of what could be the LLOONNGGEESSTTTT post on "Clubcobra"...
In the interim, can anyone recommend a shop to build a custom drive shaft for me? |
This is a fairly common item to have made locally, wherever locally is for you. Open the phonebook to Automotive, High Performance & Racing, or Truck, Service & Machine. Pickups with snow plows break them all the time.

I [and several other builders here] have had a nice driveshaft made by:
http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/index.html I found that Denny's web/mailorder price was actually cheaper than my local shop's quote and the workmanship & finish were certainly nicer than the local shop items I had seen. The website has a fairly idiot-proof measuring protocol to get what you need. Dan |
Ditto on Denny's Driveshafts.
Should be a pic or two at my site: http://www.priveye.com/cobra.htm Roscoe |
I will probably go with them also. They can make the drive shaft with 1310, 1330, or 1350 U joints depending upon you HP needs. I will probably go with the 1350 setup since this thing is running only about 6" from my leg. Will use driveshaft hoop also.

Thanks...
