Weld Repair of Side Pipe Support
My right chrome side pipe support has broken away from the side pipe. The metal strap reinforcing piece broke out at the thin metal of the pipe.
Question: Can I weld repair the pipe and support? Since it is on the bottom side, I don't care what it looks like. What do I need to do to prepare the area for repair? Thanks, Steve K. :D |
It's exhaust tubing which is readily welded. Might have the welding shop add a reinforcing bracket to prevent it from snapping off again.
You'll have to paint it or coat it with something to keep it frome rusting more. May also want to look at how sidepipe is attached to frame. Need to have some rubber for flexibility there or it will break again |
