Windshield mounting question

Okay, question; I have bolted the windshield down and I am seeing light under the gasket at the
bottom. I have a gap in the center where the gasket meets the body of about an eight of an inch.
The build directions call for a measurement of 26" from the back corner of the door frame which then
gives me about three eights of an inch gap, so now I am at 28" and still have the gap. If I put more space then the windshield looks too upright but the gap goes away. So, now the question, do you
guys think the rubber will eventually lay down on the body and close the gap? If I applied heat to
simulate sun do you think it would help or hurt?:eek:

The bottom gasket on mine from ERA stuck pretty much straight down before dropping on to the car, so it was deflected forward by the body and sealed tight (except in the little valleys by the posts). Is you gasket formed this way? It sounds like the crown of the body is a little too flat for your windshield. You may have to build up the centerline crown with filler a little (unless your car is already painted) but 3/8 inch is quite a bit. In the little valleys by the posts I did place a ribbon of 3M strip caulk under the weatherstripping there and stick it down with that good. That will probably hold it down to the body but it's not an ideal situation. From the cockpit you will probably see that the winshield frame is not in contact with the body.
