T-5 removal

I have to rebuild a transmission tunnel on my car and looking into making it removable to let the transm. coming out through there rather the engine bay...sounds easyier!

But a frame cross member is limiting the transmission's possibility of backing out by about 6 inches that is keeping it straight without any prying up effort...any further back would demand some lifting-up ,prying-up effort.

Anyone can tell me if this small traveling space backwards is enough? If not I will not bother with the more complex "dismantable" transm. tunnel !

Thank you.

removable...?

what mfg. car do you have? we have in our inventory a removable fiberglass one thats universal (to a degree) and an aluminum one that will fit an FFR let's say, with little modification. need more poop!

I am sure it will depend on the make of your Cobra. On my FFR it dropped right out the bottom. Take out the driveshaft, remove the bellhousing bolts and undo the rearbrace, slide it back and it should fall in your lap.

Getting the Tremec back in was another story for another day. Let's just say the my trans tunnell is a little more rounded than before.:JEKYLHYDE
