limited slip/ locker rear ends

Looking for advice on the best limited slip or locker devices out there. I drive my Cobra on the street but do drag racing and road racing. It has a Ford 9" rear end. I've heard good things about the Powertrax system?

Steve;
I thought I was the only guy in SLC with a Shell Valley!!
I have a powertrax in my ford 9", but, unfotunately, I have yet to put wheels to ground (soon, I hope).
We should get together and compare notes.

Hi guys!

Steve,
We've been using the Powertrax lockers for the last 1-2 years as an option when rebuilding the 9"rears. They seem to be of good quality and are a little more reasonably priced than othet lockers on the market. They also don't seem to be quite as noisy when ratcheting as some of the others. With the posi units getting harder to find the locker is becoming the way to go and my vote goes to Powertrax.

Powertrax makes two units. I forgot the names, but the older one clicked when turning (ratcheting) and the newer one (about $80 more) is quiet when ratcheting.

I run a regularly abused 535, and I have a Detroit Locker. No problems in many years of use, and very quiet IF you follow FoMoCo's recommendations and use ONLY GL5 (75w90) gear oil with the Ford Friction Additive--about $6 @ any Ford dealer. Mine has held up very well, even with many trips to the 1/4 mile. :p

Steve Detroit Locker makes three Different unites I think the one we just got is called a true track, it is the unit that is run in the Panos cars and is of the self adjusting type, it was $380.oo Quite reasonable. We have gotten grate results With the Gold track units, and are crenately using the Black gold unit it is about $700.oo we have put 700hp no it whit 1200 track miles so far.
