Fiafred Flyin' Again
Just a quick note to the sidelines...Installed the new rod today. Southern Automotive received the bent rod that I sent to them for examination. Seemed evident that I was largely contributory to bending of the rod, due to an oil flow problem that I created some time ago. Bill Parham did not care that I was probably the culprit in the damage. He sent me the new rod and talked me through the proper install and valve adjustment over the phone, while I turned the wrenches. Flushed out the engine, then installed a new oil filter and fresh oil. Engine cranked up immediately and held 50+ lbs of pressure through operating temperature. Nothing else to do put go ridin'. Punched my "E" ride ticket and had a ball. Thanks to all who offered assistance!
