electric fans
I have been looking at the electric fan kits that come with the various kits. One dual set up was rated at 1000cfm. Is this per fan or total ? Is this adequate for a street driven car with say 500-600 hp ? I ask because I had a fairly built Mustang and a 2400cfm fan couldn't keep it cool during the summer and it only had 400 hp.

I doubt those fans would be sufficient. Most after-market fans I've seen leave a lot to be desired. Here's a tip. Take some measurements, and try to find an OEM fan and shroud assembly that fits the dimensions of your radiator. The quality and performance are usually better. I'm using one from an Acura MDX, and it works great. Also, remember to use heavy gauge wire so the fan motor gets a full 12 volts at it's proper amperage. Good luck! Dave |
