Would a 32 gallon fuel cell make my butt look big?
Tired of group runs white knuckling it looking for a gas station while the small block efi guys never refuel all day. Prelim measurements look like a Summit cell might fit. Down sides are extra weight and would fill thru trunk, but don't have to run a full fill except when a long run is desired. Depth is comparable to present tank (16 gal) just wider and longer. Plus is doubled range and ability to use local low priced gas vs isolated rip off gouger stations as I'm a cheap 8astard. Custom built tank not an option. $$$

I'm thinking that only the guys who haven't been married would answer your question.

10 or 12 years ago I design a tank for Coach's FFR. It would hold 32 gallons so I cut 2" (I think) off the top and got it down to 27 gallons. Local mechanical shop made the tank for us, cost $225.
Since then we have had several tank made of stainless and aluminum.
You need a baffle inside to kept the fuel in place.

Coach's tank was a swap out, same filler neck, lines, etc.
