not real sure what your question is. if you are looking for paint mixing color codes , according to the SAAC 97 registry. pg 1280, they are:
Ford preference code: "F" : used to designate 1964 Guardsman Blue on 65/66 Shelbys. The Registry color code lists this a "B" color mixing codes are: *Ford color code: 1622-A *R-M reference number: A-1630 *Ditzler/PPG reference number: 12832 *Dupont reference number: 4483 * a footnote says the "A" is a suffix for 3 0z touch up it says NOTE: there has been much discussion on prior posts (same question) with several folks saying that the Guardsman Blue used by Shelby was almost always different from car to car, ie, they were never exactly the same. I could not tell you based on my experience, but only recall the comments from others claiming to be an authority. I once looked at a 68 GT 500 that was painted the rare Yellow "X" code color and was unsure if the color I was looking at was in fact the correct 'hue'. I used the color mixing codes from the Registry and went to a local auto paint supplier and had them mix a quart from two different formulas (ie, as in above, a mix of Ditzler and a mix of Dupont). the two colors were almost identical to each other. I then painted each of the two on sample pieces of metal and took them to where the car was and one was an exact match, so it was in fact painted the correct yellow. morale to the story, have someone mix the guardsman blue from above codes and see if ya like it and then proceed if that is your plan recognizing that guardsman blue on one car might be slightly different from same color on another car, but probably close to each other. the same probably holds true with any custom color mix, especially if it is a base coat/clear coat mix. Just my $.02 worth. Bill. (arrest me red SPF) |
