Remote Air Filter
 
Anyone using a remote air filter on their Cobra? I'm considering whether this might solve hood clearance difficulties, but can't find a suitable carb-top plenum that will fit in the scoop. Any experience out there?

I don't have the answer but from what I have been reading, an aircleaner lid should be 3" from the carb. Using the formula recomended by most, the standard 3/4" high oval air filter found on most Cobras is not only too close to the carb but doesn't have enough filter area. I have a 428 and there isn't enough clearance for a carb spacer let alone a taller filter. I have been trying to figure a way of installing a remote filter and am curious as well if anyone has a solution.

Relocating your air filter does not require relocating your steering wheel. That's just something we do down under for kicks.

G'day, Mate!

I've visited your lovely country several times and I never made the connection. Probably because I haven't been there since really getting into the Cobra project. I'm impressed with the apparent number of Cobras downunder.

If you have any purveyors of carb hats and remote filter systems for Cobras there, I'll have to visit soon.
