Thanks Glen.

The initial impetus was nothing more than the age old convergence of necessity and invention motherhood ... :)

any one else here have a .625/7/8" set up with a McLeod RST? I currently now have a .750 I think that that is my problem... a new master cylinder is only $55...

Mike,
I presume your slave is the .625" diameter piston and the master cylinder is 0.750" diameter piston, which would produce a very stiff clutch release. Try putting a 0.875" diameter slave on the clutch and you should have a very nice feel to the clutch release.

no. My existing set up is a .750 master and a .875 slave... I will try going with a smaller master (.625) I am thinking this will solve my issue... right?

It will be lighter but longer pedal throw. If that isn't a concern or problem with clutch release then might help

Interesting, I see no dowels.
So are the 2 sets of studs a transition fit for each section, or a sloppy clearance fit?

My bad, I misread your post, Mike. Your current choices should work if your pedal ratio is close to correct. Increasing the leverage the clutch pedal has is similar to decreasing cylinder bore on the master cylinder but frequently quicker and less expensive.
