Pulling Jag rear end out of Unique
I'm pulling the Jag rear end out of my Unique this weekend. Does anyone have any tips on this? This will be my first Jag rear end removal.

Rich,
You may want to post your question over at the Unique owners forum at http://uniquecobra.com. Quite a few Unique owners plus some folks from Unique post regularly there. Good luck. |
Caution
Have you chatted with Dan at NWD? Back during my initial inquiry on your behalf he mentioned a few things that one must do to assure a perfect fit upon re-install. I think it included one of his guys stopping by to take some measurements before you remove it.
You could pick some brain matter at that time... since his guys have pulled a number Jag Jag rears. Just a thought. So your gunna do it.... good for you. (If I can get away, I'll try to stop by, but will call 1st). Always:D Zderf |
Fred,
I'll call Dan to see if there's anything I should know. Come over...I'll fill the propane tank and buy some Pacifico. Rich |
Call Allen or Maurice at 256-546-2395. They build the car, afterall, and they should be able to give you a definitive answer.

Rich;
Nothing to it. Put the car on stands. Disconnect drive shaft at rear end, disconnect brake lines, rear trailing arms (both ends), rearend center brace, upper shock mounting plate (4 1/4" bolts per side), put floor jack under center section, remove 4 1/2" cap screws, lower to floor. I think you have already taken the shocks off, so skip that step. Poorboy |
Poorboy,
Is the rearend center brace the bar that connects the two lower suspension arms at the rear? Rich |
Rich;
It's the 2 1x1 square tubes that run between the center section & the rear frame crossmember. poorboy |

Poorboy,
I'm not seeing any 1x1 square tubes. Am I missing something? Rich |
Rich;
You have an older car, no center brace. Forward running trailing arms. Disconnect the trailing arms at the lower arm. The rest is the same |
