BB oil pan in a Superformance

The mechanic started to install my 390 today, but came up with a problem. The Million road/race oil pan isn't allowing him to move the engine side to side to get the motor mounts to line up properly because the pan is hitting the frame. He's asking for any recommendations in overcoming this problem.

Thanks,
Dan

Yep, that's in the way alright. Check the dimensions on a Canton #15-820 and see if that will get you what you want. A lot of use that pan.

Thanks for that. I checked that earlier, but the width is the same as the Milodon at 13". I thought about going for the Milodon 31130 as it's narrow, but the pan is 8" deep, and we're worried about road clearance.

Clearance the pan to miss the frame.

This FE equipped SPF appears to be using an Aviaid oil pan, based on the shape and side decals.

I'll check that out. Thanks

I have SPF 2621 and it in fact has the Aviaid oil pan. Has at least 1" clearance at the widest point on either side. Tried to post photos. This is without a doubt the damnest site to post a photo on.

Thanks msinc. I looked at their site last night. They claim that theirs is actually wider than the Milodon, but clearly, theirs actually fits. This is the Aviaid that spdbrk mentioned and seems to fit well. Is this the same what you run?

I'd be inclined to remove the pan, take some off each side of the kick-outs, then re-install. Modify oil pan baffles, windage tray, etc. as necessary.

Yes sir that looks like the one mine has.

Armando's Oil Pans in Texas will make you a pan for that, there's also the drag race pan option as well with no kick outs.

Thank you Tony. I'll check with them, too. It's one of the last hurdles we have before getting it on the road.

Armando made my pan. BBF 460, though, not FE.
