Eliminating 2nd Heater Hose Outlet on Water Pump
I have a 351W without a heater (and no plans to add one). I noticed the second heater hose on the water pump is plugged with a short piece of hose and metal bolt. Not liking points of failure and desiring the maximum cooling for Florida, should I run a heater hose from this second hose outlet to the manifold? Would this increase the cooling or divert water flow away from the radiator? The other heater hose outlet on the pump is the thermostat bypass hose.

no.. just use a threaded plug to clean up the look. No advantage will be had from the hose being routed to the intake, and as you note. It is a potential point of failure.

Agreed. If you don't need the heater, plug the water pump inlet, and intake manifold heater water outlet with a brass pipe plug. Be sure to seal the threads with Permatex to avoid coolant weeping.
You may not need a heater in Florida, but you do have humidity, and windshields do fog up.
