Flex-a-Lite fan problems

Hi Guys,
My flex-a-lite fan does not come on when the water temp comes up to 230. The fan will however run when configured for manual opereation. I have played with the temp adjustment to no effect.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Roger

Where is the temp sensor located? Best place is nearest to the input side of the rad if it is in the fins, which would be near the top inlet. In in the manifold it should be BEFORE the thermostat in the intake. I prefer manual set up BTW...but if all w/ placement seems well, replace the sensor. Has it ever worked correctly?

Roger, I have had a flex-a-lite fan on my car that did the same thing. I ended up replacing it. I do know that the temp adjustment on the new fan was very touchy and it took my a while to get it adjusted. The other thing I ran into was that the temp at the radiator, where the sensor is located, is lower than the temp in the motor where my gauge is reading water temp.
