SPF Rear Suspension Bushing Removal?

Hi Kids:
I've got a Superformance with a very squeaky rear suspension. The noise is coming from the bushings. I have tried everything possible to quiet them down but I just can't get any lubricant to go between the bushings and the metal. I have decided to take the rear suspension apart in order to get a coating of lubricant on the bushings. The problem is I'm not sure what's involved!

Do I need spring compressors or will the springs be relaxed when the car is jacked up? What is the best lubricant? Will I be able to reinstall the bushings once I get them out? What other gremlins might be out there waiting for me?

If you can offer any help (including "go to a trained professional") it would be greatly appreciated.

Bob

Bob:

I had the same problem--especially on those parking lot speed bumps. Sprayed a little WD-40 and the squeak was gone.

Sounds like you already tried that, but if not, do before you pull things apart.

The springs will unload when you raise the car. The outboard bolts are straightforward. The inboard bolts will change wheel alignment if you dont put them back where they were. Scribe a mark on the offset washers to aid reinstallation.
Count spacing washers in each joint prior to bolt removal. The washers will fall out and must put in the same way they came out.
Good luck.
