Tire Pressures

Greetings,

I am requesting a recommendation on tire pressures for a small block (Ford 302) equipped Lone Star Cobra. I'm running BFG 245/60/15 F, and 275/60/15 R. The car weighs approx 2400lbs. with me and a half tank of gas.

I'm looking for:

1. A decent street ride

and

2. A good starting point for the track

Thanks for your help.

TX66; I would start with 32lbs in front and 29lbs rear, down to 26 at the track.

I'm running 255 - 60's at all four cornors of my 'street' car and put 26 pounds in each one. Ride is neither harsh or too soft...... and tire wear appears even across the tread.

PS Somewhere in this forum is an old thread about this same subject... you might try a search for it and gather up somemore information quicker.

Hey TX:
You're running big tires on a light car. If you overinflate, the footprints will be small and traction will suffer, as will ride. I would recommend 20 PSI front and 18 PSI back for the street. If you want to be more aggressive with the car increase the pressure. I would not exceed 25 PSI as the size of the footprints will be very small.

Thanks for the help. I'll try low 20's to start with. Lone Star told me to go with 30psi. It's just too firm at 30psi and (as it has already been stated) the contact patch is very small.

My CD Player skips at anything over 22 psi
