ERA battery charging
ERA dead battery- + pole under right front fender; should be able to charge battery by connecting + pole of charger to starter solenoid connection?? Any danger of damage to starter solenoid?

You can connect the positive side of the charger to any point on the positive battery cable. Just make sure it is the cable from the battery and not the one from the solenoid to the starter.
You can connect to ground anywhere on the cars chassis or the engine block itself if the neg term is inaccessable. Keep in mind that your battery terminal connections must be clean and tight. Good luck, |

JUST MAKE SURE YOU CONNECT IT TO THE BATTERY SIDE OF THE RELAY. CONNECT IT ALSO TO A GOOD CHASSIS GROUND. BY ALL MEANS - PLEASE - MAKE SURE THAT YOU ADEQUATELY VENTILATE THE AREA BEFORE MAKING ANY CONNECTIONS. SULFURIC ACID FUMES ARE HIGHLY VOLATILE. Y'ALL HAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY, BLACKJACK |
"sulfuric acid fumes" ... don't you mean hydrogen gas?

You should be able to just connect the charger to the battery cable connected to the solenoid. However, if that bothers you, just disconnect the negative (ground) terminal from the battery and hook up the positive connection from the charger to the solenoid terminal and the negative connection of the charger to the battery negative terminal. That way, the only circuit being completed is the battery, just as if you removed the battery from the car.
