Liberty's Pro-Shift Conversion

Has any used, or know of anyone using the Liberty's Pro-Shift conversion on their 5 speed TKO's. Was reading an article in Car Crafts April edition concerning "Stick-Shifts for Drag Racing". Companys President Craig Liberty was stating that some drivers will opt for this conversion, but only convert the 3rd,4th and 5th gears and keep the 1st and 2nd gears stock utilizing the bronze synchronizers for what I would assume would be a somewhat tamed driving experience? How does the stock TKO hold up against 500-600lbs of torgue? Thanks ***Rodney*** %/

Tremec rates the TKO for 450 ft lb of torque. It all depends if you hook it up. Use street tires, no problem, you will just sit and spin. Put on a set of slicks and get them to hook hard with 600 ft lb, you will eventually loose third gear.

So JEFF, seems a few Cobra owners use the TKO, yet have high torque monsters out there. Is there anything to do to beef up the units? But again, its not like I'll be drag racing full time. Would like to use cheeter slicks when I go to the local track for a few runs. Thats why I was interested in the Liberty trans conversion, but wanted to see if anyone used this unit? Anyone reading this post live on Long Island NY with such a trans, Cobra or no cobra? ***Rodney***
