What Wax / Polymer / Finish Is Best??
Is Carnuba better than a Polymer wax? I have been using Malm's carnuba wax for 20 years, am trying to find out if switching to a man made product such as those sold by Zaino makes sense. I believe Malm's is very similar to Griots.
Is one type of product better for your paint? To those chemists and others with experience out there, which way should I go?? Thanks, Chas:confused: :confused: :confused: |
I'm no chemist, I only know that I'm some type of carbon based life form (I think my wife said something about being a pig, or a snake, or something), but I had other forum members convince me to try Zaino products. They are well worth the money. After careful application, the car shines beautifully. Their touch up spray works great, and you don't have to use much at all, so the bottle will last a long time.

Ditto on the Zaino - I use it on all of my vehicles.
Call Sal and ask for distributor in your area. Distributors add a ton of value about how to use the products, and which products are best for your application, etc... There have been some independent tests done and Zaino wasn't so great in the tests.
They found that P21S car wax was the best. I DO know that the Zaino process is very, very lengthy... |

Meguiars #26 liquid wax, with a shot of #7 (poly seal) every now and then. If something evil happens tp your paint, your can use the Micro Finish Swirl Remover to excellent effect. With all of the talk of what wax is primo, etc., fact is most of the winners @ Pebble Beach use plain old Meguiars..and they buy it themselves!

Has anybody tried the product by PRO. It is called Pro Gold. I have found it to be very effective.

No buffing, no removing the 1st coat sealer at all. Touchup spray is a breeze. Because of it's anti-static properties (Zaino is not a wax but more of a polish) your "meatballs" will come off but then again the trade is no dust either. Buy it. You won't be sorry. |

I don't know if it is available in the USA, but here in Europe the best wax is from AUTOGLYM ! - Advised by :
Jaguar, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, TVR. It's not because we sell this product for over 10 years, but IT SIPMLY IS THE BEST on the market. |

Does it contain wax? One thing about wax is it attracts dust like a magenet. No offense, that is the major advantage to Zaino that those of us who use it have found. Cheers, |

Autoglym polish is petroleum based - When cleaning the car with it, it leaves absolutely no white dust. Very shiny finish! |
The "wax test" was at thewaxtest.org I think... It is now down, saying they are doing wax test 2002 which should be out later this year....Wish I would have saved the results. P21S wax was found to be the best. You can get it at autodetail.com
I think that Autoglym is basically a NuFinish type product...Nothing wrong with that but some purists want actual carnuba. |
Here's another alternative. I've never tried the Zaino product but I just purchased Zymol carb wax for my new paint. Put it on and wipe it off before it drys. No white dust and it's AMAZING. Buy their microfiber cloth to remove the wax.

Meguires Gold Class is by far the best I have used. It is in a class by itself. I spent a lot on Zainos, but like the shine, feel, protection and over penetration of the Meguires Gold Class way better. It actually soaks into the clear coat. It is amazing.
