Winter...Oil cooler, Radiator, Trans cooler

Chicago winters are brutal...What kind of set up should I look for to keep things cool in the summer and warm enough in the winter?(will drive/start cobra once a week during winter)

Any suggestions?
Engine will be 351 crate or 392 crate.

1 Puller fan on the radiator is all I know for sure.

Should I invest in an engine heater....or a good electric blanket?

Bypassing the oil cooler or using an oil thermostat would be a good idea. I wouldn't worry about bypassing the trans cooler if it's built into the radiator - in fact, it'll help heat the fluid up to working temperature.

If you are using a rear-mounted battery, use 0 gage or heavier, and the block heater might be a good idea if you're not using a heavy duty starter.

Wear a hat and gloves - but you probably already knew that. ;)

So no Oil Cooler is needed? Sorry Bob I'm a little slow:(
And I don't need the trans cooler cause it will warm up faster in the winter...right?

Hey GS:
My best advice is to use a 0w-30 or 5w-30 synthetic.

I live in Connecticut and before I start ol' SPF642 in the winter I put a 60W light bulb under the crankcase the day before to help warm the oil. I put a piece of foam rubber in front of the oil cooler and I cover the bottom half of the radiator with foam so that the water entering the block is a little warmer than ambient.

Thanks Bob! I was looking for something simple. And I also don't want to buy something that I don't need. If I'm not gonna use it why buy it?
