Corner weighting..............
Just had the car aligned. Also had them do something called "corner weighting". I guess they use this technique to balance the car and going so far as to add the driver's weight into the equation. The result?
WOW! Can't wait for the track! And I thought it handled good before. This is night and day. If it has been some time since your last alignment or made any changes to your car, go get it aligned and consider the corner balancing. You can really feel the difference on these lightweight cars. Can you explain more? What is it they are actually doing?
|
Okie,
What John's referring to is simply setting the ride height, weighing the car on wheel scales, and adjusting the coilovers to achieve 50% cross-weight. Cross refers to the Left rear + right front corner weights expressed as a percentage of the total vehicle weight. 50% cross allows the car to handle the same in right and left turns, assuming the alignment is the same on both sides. Thanks!
