Oxygen Sensor

I am going to do some experimenting with intake systems on my 351 Cleveland and I am installing oxygen sensor bungs in my sidepipe collectors for an Edelbrock Air/Fuel Meter. I can only read one side at a time. Does anyone know where I can find a plug for the unused port? It is a 18mm X 1.5 thread. Has anyone tried one of these Edelbrock Meters? Later, David.

If you have the room just screw an old spark plug from a 289, early 302 or 390 in the hole. The thread size and pitch is the same. Plugs are available from any of the aftermarket EFI companies.
HTH,
Mike

For long-term troubleshooting, I would install a second sensor with redundant wiring and a crossover switch. Nice to find bad injectors, intake manifold leaks, or just play.

But I'm weird.:3DSMILE:

I know this is answering my own question but I went by parts store today and on a whim, I checked out the replacement drain plugs. Sure enough, I found drain plugs in 18mm X 1.5 size. They fit and worked perfectly in the Oxygen sensor bungs. Another problem solved! Later, David.

Forget the oxy sensor, the best way to know what's happening in the combustion chamber is with exhaust gas temp probes an all cylinders' exhaust primaries. EGT in anaheim CA makes great components for just that.

Mr.Fixit:

Could you provide some general advice on EGT as a tuning aid? I've heard this is a great way to know what's going on but exactly what do you look for? Are you trying to tune to obtain maximum EGT (or does this mean your timing is too retarded?)

And I would suspect the values would differ between different engines and set-ups. I have a 10 channel monitor (it was free) that I will be using on a turbocharged 2.3 but not exactly clear on what is a good temp and what is bad.

Thanks,

Francis

P.S. What brand of O2 sensor does anyone recommend..and why
