Weber carbs
Dear Cobra drivers,
My Cobra runs with a 289cid engine that is stroked to 347cid and equipped with Edelbrock performer heads and a mild cam. I'm interested in replacing the 850cfm Holley double pumper and the Edelbrock performer intake manifold by a Weber setup. Do you know what I can expect from this (besides spending a lot of money) ? Do you know any specialists in the US that deliver to Switzerland ? I would be glad to receive some helpful web links. Many thanks and cobra powered regards from Switzerland !!! |

Try Inglese Induction. Be aware that correct jetting is almost always a result of direct experimentation on the car. Even dyno testing won't necessarily come up with the best jets for driveability.

swisscobra....i have a 347,10.1comp,solid flat tappet cam 294dur,248 @.050,560lift,110 lobe sep,with windsor snr alloy heads(unported out of the box),quad 44mm idf webers with 35mm chokes,i had the heads/manifold/webers flowed as an assembly and at the peak lift of the cam the flow figures where 189cfm @ 560lift(not alot of flow)the car has a tremmec 3550,4.1diff,it made 295rear wheel hp @ 5900rpm before it detonated a piston and it was then pulled dpwn to be rebuilt(but thats another story,i hope that helps you,i have the dyno sheet. ring inglese induction in the usa they are the people to talk to,i had the heads ported to flow 309cfm @ 0.700lift and the manifold ported aswell,i had the heads/manifold/44mm weber flowed together and it flowed 234cfm @ 0.560 lift(better but still a litle low because of the 44mm carb,but with a 48mm weber with a 42mm choke and the peak flow at 560lift was 250cfm.so you will need 48mm webers and some dyno time.hope this hasnt bored you to death.good luck

Try to stick with the maximum venturi carb, the 48mm. with either the IDF or, more preferably, the IDA. Use Pierce Manifolds or Fast Freddies for your parts.
