T-5 Tranny Problems
 
LOOKING FOR SOME INFO ON T-5 TRANNYS
I AM HAVING TROUBLE SHIFTING MY T5.IT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE GETTING ENOUGH TRAVEL TO FULLY RELEASE THE CLUTCH. I HAVE
BLED BOTH THE MASTER AND THE SLAVE SEVERAL TIMES.DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MUCH THE MASTER AND SLAVE RODS SHOULD TRAVEL? DOES ANY ONE KNOW HOW LONG THE ROD FROM THE SLAVE TO THE CLUTCH FORK SHOUL BE?ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED? PS. COOL WEB SIGHT FOR A NEW COBRA OWNER!!!!!:confused:

The problem you are having is unrelated to owning a T-5 ; it's all about your clutch and pedal setup. The fork actuating pushrod that the slave pushes on should be .125" short of zero lash when the piston is pushed all the way into the bore. The TO bearing against the PP, slave piston all the way back, there should be 1/8" freeplay at one end of the pushrod.

Consider converting the hydraulics to a cable clutch. With a small block, and T-5, it's easy to set up. Aftermarket parts (BBK) are beefier than OEM. The cable, quadrant, and firewall adjuster will run you about $130 - $140 from Summit. Have shots of the install. Absolutely trouble free, and easy to adjust.
