Fuel Sender installation

I just got my new fuel sender for my B&B kit. The guage has instructions, but nothing for the sender. It has a straight metal rod that is too long to fit in the tank. Do I move the float and cut the rod? Do I bend the rod?

OhBouy: What fuel sender do you have. If it is a VDO unit I can fax you the instruction sheets. Typically the length of the float arm varies with the depth of the tank and the length of the sender unit. After you set the unit to the correct length you cut off the excess and make sure the float arm is in the right direction or your gage will show empty when full and visaversa.
