Holley refurb...
Has anyone used the Holley Custom Shop (in Tenn.?) for refurbishing old carbs?
Seems like the right place for a job like this; I need to do a total restoration on an old Holley 4-bbl, both mechanical and cosmetic. If not, any other leads or suggestions? |
Yes
Ron,
Fred Dieker sent his Holley Carbs to the factory rebuilding site and they came back looking like new and seem to work perfectly. Cranky:) |
I did,
Ron,
I sent my 4160s to the factory. They take their time, and very expensive. I think they end up at their Custom Shop. They came back looking like brandnew. If you ask for restoration, they keep it looking like original reluctant to replace any of the screws and hardware. They do one heck of a job. Cost about a year ago, $708.92 for a pair. They will return all the parts they replaced etc. They took a long time. If you have the carbs send them well ahead of the engine building. You just need to completely disassemble the carbs, dip them in carb cleaner, glass bead blast every little piece, send the steel screws out to be plated, chromate dip the aluminum parts, then put it all back together with new gaskets and such. I used to charge $600 to do a set of three two barrel holleys.
