Electrical question:
I'm wiring up my Finishline Hella headlights and was surprised to find 3 bulbs:, ie, hi beam, low beam and a third low ampere bulb below the main beams. What is it purpose? When is it on? with parking lights? etc.
thx gn |
Too many bulbs, and not enough places to put them. Cobra takes a 7" round headlight. It uses one H-4 dual fillament bulb, e.g. Hi beam, and Lo beam in one bulb. H-4 halogen bulbs come in a variety of wattages. Standard is 55/60, 55 watts Lo, 60 watts Hi.
The low wattage bulb is for the European version of the headlight, and should be for parking. They could be wired to your parking light circuit for a Euro look. |
low wattage bulb
In Australia the small bulb is used for the parking lamps. The headlamp switch has off position, park lights position ie number plate lights and tail lights and the front parklights, and main beam lights ie low beam rear lights as above and low beam driveing lights. The hi beam is switched on generally with a seperate switch on the steering colomn.
