Quicklift Dimensions......
Has anyone the CORRECT dimensional drawings for QUICKLIFTS ? i am wanting to make a set for my car.
When mounting are they facing in or out?? Thanks Paul:D |

Go to www.kwiklift.com Don't know about the demensions but the price is right! I would think the only way is with the ramp facing "out" so that you can drive on and off. Cheers, |

I got one of their first sets and I just went out and measured them. The length of each ramp is 14 foot 10 1/2 inches with the back stands bolted on. The ramp with is 16 inches. Height is about 19 inches when both legs are down and that gives me around 25-30 inches under the car. The width can be changed to fit different cars. I have mine with the end you lower facing out as I back up onto them in my garage. I have really liked them and they are great when you don't have enough height in your garage for a regular electric lift.

I'll just delete the answer, I first saw the post and thought you meant "quik jack"s like works with the lift frame like the racing COBRAs used. Sorry, I no nothing about the lift system as noted. grumpy |

I'm actually refering to the car bumper lifts ,i've only heard them refered to as quicklifts, am i correct in calling them that? Thanks for your previous replies!! Paul |

do you still need the drawing? have you fabricated the frame extensions yet? if so you will need to make the plates to bolt them to compatible as far as dimensions. there are two types, the kit car version and the 289/427 kind that fit the offset holes on the CSX chassis, which one?

I think that SPF has the nicest looking "bumper jacks" out there. They appear solid but are 2 welded pieces. Not the flimsy bent pieces found on some. Shape is pleasing as well. As for in or out, I assume that in was the intended direction (they seem to be cut to follow the body lines), but pointed out was easier to access and perhaps quicker. Most guys point them out.

Are you sure???
From what I have seen and heard you may be able to lift the car with a quick jack, but do you want to? Was the mounting and hardware made to support the weight? If and when then flex a bit, what are they going to do the the body? I have seen a number of pictures of originals used for racing where the hardware and body around the opening looked all askew.
Aside from that, a big 'L' triangulated with rollers that will take the weight on a axle through the tube on the ground. The lever as long as you can pull it. Still probably better put to guys on it to pull it up. That is the way I have seen them. We used some in formula racing but they lifted on a flat plate on the tub. Different geometry as well. The front and rear quick jacks are different in shape Paul, and the correct way to mount them is with bolts on the outside. I have a beautiful looking set if you want to borrow them for a pattern but engineer doesnt like them, something about not mixing well with skateboarders when you run them over!:cool:

Did you get the drawing of the qwik lift jack brackets? The drawing is full scale but dimensions are in millimeters. The scale bar is in FT/INCHES and can be used to zoom up and down on a copier. grumpy |
