Broken key in trunk lock
Well I managed to break my trunk key of flush with the lock handle. I have disassembled the lock as far as I can and still can't find a way to get the broken part of the key out.
Any ideas? Roger |

I did it in the ignition of a different car. Get out your cordless drill and go to town. The material is soft and easy to drill.

I have sometimes been lucky with a custom ended popsicle stick for contact area and a bit of superglue. Make sure it's in the neutral position on the barrel so it's not hanging on.
Good luck...... |
thanks for the ideas. I will try again tonight

Yeah, super glue on a toothpick or paper clip sometimes works.

Have you tried a dental pick?

Roger ,
Drill it out. I have a like new set of Cobra Latches from Finish line (looks new) with all the hardware and matching keys I will sell you all three chrome latches (both hood and trunk) and keys for $50.00 and I will pay the freight. They work and look great. Call me at 918-499-4238 next week if you are interested. Clois Harlan |
Roger,
I commiserate (although I've never done it). Follow these instructions: First, have three Bombay Sapphire-and-tonics; then play the "Pedro and Man at the Drive-in" cut from Cheech and Chong's first album; next play it again, with two more Sapphires; finally, follow all the suggestions above in whichever order you choose--(except ssirlin's should be last). Please update us with the results. Chow and G'luck, Freddie Freddie |
How'd my Siamese twin get in there to sign off?
