SPF Speedometer
I was out for a little drive and the speedo was working fine until I went over 100MPH. Now it is bouncing around, did something come apart? Any help would be great...........What should I look for.
|
Mine also bounces somewhat. I've been advised by my builder to check the speedometer knurled connecter behind the speedo - the connector takes a fairly aggressive turn/angle and loosening the connector very slightly seemed to unbind the cable - it still bounces - just not as much. Try loosening first and test driving - then maybe tightening. Let us know what you find - you're not alone.
Anyway, over 100 MPH dont' be looking at that gauge - looking ahead might be safer :D Be safe -- Mike |
Thanks,
I was able to get under the steering wheel (not easy) and found that the connector was not tight. So I gave it a little muscle and will try out later today. I was looking ahead, my car has the Corvette windsheild readout! |
Make sure there are no tight bends in the speedo cable. Tight turns can cause this.
