Installing windshield washer assembly
G'Day all,
I was wondering if anyone has installed the washer assembly? If so where did you put the washer jet outlet? Please don't tell me I have to drill holes... urgh!.......Quebec..@$#%&^.. safety.... .....now they want back-up lights..... At first they wanted exterior door handles ....... breathe.......breathe and count back from ten. Thank you in advance! Cheers Jim |
If you install them before installig the dash, it's pretty easy.
If you aim them too far up, you get a bath when you use them. |
Jim: Got my washer double sided, adjustable jets from Finish Line. Drilled thru the cowl and because A & C 's fiberglass is so thick in that area had to back counter bore the underside of the cowl so there would be enough thread for the washer and nut. You can then adjust the angle of the jet independent or each other. Nice stuff, as always from those good folks at Finish Line.

I ordered the wipers/washer assembly from Finish Line, Their website is great. I am saving my pennies, a lot of things I want from them. i.e webers... Thanks for the help and advice! pics will be up soon. Cheers Jim |
It sounds too late now but I would recomend not installing the washer bottle and nozzle setup. They are not necessary. They do cause water spots on your paint if you do use them. I often removed the washer pump button from the dashboard and used that hole to mount the pull cable for onboard halon systems.

Race car - street car prioroties. Used WSW switch that had push function to activate washer pump. Like above, had to counterbore cowl from underneath for nozzle nut to engage. There are driving circumstances where they come in handy. Cleaning windshield when it first starts to rain. Water spots wipe off easily, as does rain.
Oddity in Cobra is washer fluid in line gets forced through nozzles when car is accelerated rapidly with remote pump in bottom of reservoir setup. Pump fluid from top of reservoir, and mount pump near dash fixes. Some people laugh at you for things like windshield washers, courtesy lights, sterio, heater, sidepipe heatshields. Hey, it's your money, and your car. |
