T-5 Neutral Safety Switch
Is there a neutral safety switch on the T-5? My 5-5 has two electrical connections, and I tried both to see if they are Neutral. One is obviously reverse, and I seem to remember seeing that the other is a sensor of some sort.

The T-5 has two electrical connections. One is for the backup lights, and the other is the neutral safety switch.
Needless to say, brand new trans, the neutral safety switch had to be bypassed because it stopped working. Haven't replaced it yet.

Neutral safety, at least on my T5Z is up near the front top of the trans, on the drivers side, sticking out sideways just behind the bellhousing.

Tom, on my first Cobra that I built in '96-97, I didn't mess with the trans lockout. I installed a lockout on the clutch pedal. I made sure the clutch was totally disingaged before the starter worked.

Any tips for mounting a clutch lockout on the stock B&B pedal box?
Back up lights? Who has time for going in reverse? Must be for when you let the rear end get away from you or something!
BTW, any tips for wiring up the Lucas bulbs like the ones on the B&B demo car with the Haywire harness?

Neutral safety switches have their place....... but not having one has saved me from having to push my car on more than one occasion. Put the tranny in gear and let the starter move the car!

Agreed. Starter does move car nicely. On a level surface, car can be pushed with one hand. Paing shop guys couldn't get over how easily car rolled. I'd be inclined to put a by pass switch somewhere when I wanted to override the neutral safety switch, and leave the safety function in place. Save me from whacking the nose on a curb.

Never found a use for hooking up the switch. I always push in the clutch when I start the car. Even when I know its in neutral. Just a good habit. Jim

Do you use a clutch switch then? How did you mount your clutch switch if you use one.

Tom: The switch was there and I wired it in. I still push the clutch in at times, old habits are hard to break. It is easier to start on an incline, because you can keep your foot on the brake and still play with the gas pedal. My 2 cents.
