Can someone post a pic of their floor mounted e-brake setup
I have the lokar transmount style handle and the lokar cable kit. Just wondering how you guys mounted it to the floor or frame and where exactly. Ideally I would like to see a pic from above or below with the tranny tunnel off.
If anyone has a pic or can digitally snap one I would be grateful Thanks Tim |
Tim,
I just happen to have my car up in the air. http://pages.sbcglobal.net/mdvmonster/ebrake.gif http://pages.sbcglobal.net/mdvmonster/ebraketop.gif As I recall, I used flat head screws with aero-nylok nuts and fabed up some tube type bushings on either side of the assembly. I came in from the side with a hole through the tunnel and then used one of the lokar "L" brackets on the other side. It is very sturdy (my tunnel is 1/4" fiberglass) Hope this helps, MIke 'monster' |
Mike thanks for taking the time to post the pics.
It helps alot because I didn't even think about using the tunnel as one side of the mount. Looks good with the L brackets. My handle seems to be the longer puppy so I think I really only have the floor as an option. Yours must be the shortie I have seen on their website. For the flathead screws on the inboard side where the brackets are, are your handle boot/bezel screws separate from those or are they one and the same. In the photo taken from underneath It looks to be the only screws passing thru the topside of the tunnel on that side of the handle. Thanks as it gives me some ideas I never thought of. |
Tim,
Do a search on the subject. Same topic not to long ago. Many pictures as I remember.:) |
Tim,
Your right about the handle , it is the short version. The bezel screws are seperate from those on the brackets. I used 3/4' long stainless sheetmetal screws for the bezel which is why you can see them in the picture, they are just long enough to go through the carpet and tunnel and only come through the bottom about an 1/8". For the brackets I used 3/8" machine screws and counter sunk into the tunnel for a flush install. You can probably get away without countersinking and use a round head screw or a hex bolt, the carpet and the location will hide the head. good luck, Mike 'monster' |
