Ignition Turn Signal Wiring Help?!?!

Since the headlights, turnsignals, brake lights didnt work I decided to replace my wiring harness on my newly acquired cobra.Since I bought this car the owner/dealership has refused to give me the info on this car. DAMN I'M STUPID! Anyway I bought an Ez wiring kit and have a small problem. the wiring colors thay are saying to hook up to i DONT HAVE! The turnsignal and ignition switch seem to be connect all together in a plug shaped like a 1/4 circle.

the top three wires are:

2 green/white stripe =?
2 white/blue stripe =?
2 blue =?
bottom 6 are:

black(grey?) with purple dash = ?
blue/dark blue stripe =?
orange/blue stripe =?
green/red stripe =?
white with red dash =?
yellow with grey diamonds =?
I dont know what year the donor car is most of the parts seem like a 69 mustang but the steering column looks differant than whats in the book? I may have to go rummage thru the pep boys chilton manuals! thanks for any help

Post the pictures of your car. We need them to help you! Don't know of any Cobra that uses 69 mustang parts. Are you pull'n our collective legs?
Use your regular camera. Have your developer put the pictures on a c-d. Post them. We can not help you if we don't know what you have.

Get this over on the Classic Roadsters thread with DV & Don Scott where other CR types can have a look.

So far, none of the wiring you mention is part of a CR wiring harness. Most of us have wiring schematics out of the assembly manual, and may have to go back to square 1 with you just to figure out what you do have.

Hope you got a good deal on the car.

sorry for no pictures my scanner is down but never thought of having the pictures put on a disc.the owner is supposedly clueless and the consignment place swears the donor was a 69 mustang. the more I work on this car the more i wonder. the chassis looks pretty rough around welds and trouble areas like steering column. Also near the rt motor mount someone wrote with the welder on the chassis "GMN COOL". the rear end is a 9" and doesnt have a rear removable cover. Are there kits that you can make the chassis as well? thanks for all the help and I'm sorry about the pictures, I need to invest in some equipment, maybe this weekend. I dont think I really got a deal but I dont mind working on the car. It's a labor of love heheheh.

Mustang II doner????

Many of the kit makers used the front suspension components and steering gear including the column from a 74-78 Mustang II. Is this what you have? Much more common than what you have described.

thanks I'll go to ford and ask them to pull a 74-78 ignition switch
and see if they match. Then at least I'll know what wiring diagram to look for.

Are you going to post the pictures?
What make of intake manifold do you have?

cobracosta 09-18-2002 01:04 AM

cobracosta 09-20-2002 09:55 PM

ok the wife had an aneurysm when I said I was going to buy a digital camera to take pictures. So thats out. I'm still trying to find a friend with a digital camera.I did figure something out.The ignition switch is on top of the steering column IN the engine compartment. So it was the turn signal plug that I was describing. I thought they where combined. Still cant find a chiltons for a 74-78 mustang.I'm Looking! Even still There are some wires missing on the car that the new diagram shows. SIGH.
I know you guys cant help without a picture so until then thanks for all your help so far. Maybe if I promise rides once its up and running someone will buy me a camera!
