dyno

i had my 347 on the dyno last night and it made 315rwhp,could some1 give me an estimate on flywheel hp? and for a 347 with 10.1comp, solid cam 560 lift, 248@.050, 110lobes, alloy windsor snr's intake flow 298 @.600, 309@.700, exh 200@.600, 209@.700, 4 into1, 1 3/4 header pipes 40 inches long into dual 2.5inch pipes, think that is good bad or average power??

you will hear lots of things about chassis dyno's. They are not necessarily very accurate in predicting flywheel hp.

But it would be an approximation to use 15% loss if you are running a stright axle, and 18% if an IRS.

That said, you could bragg that you have a 370 horsepower engine (15%).

At any rate, that is a really stout engine. That is substantially more than new Corvettes put out "where the rubber meets the road." I am sure it feels like it, too.

315rwhp is a really good result. The latest dyno result for my 347 is around 270rwhp. Exhaust system and comp ratio is similar to your engine. What carb are you using ? I have a 850cfm Holley double pumper that I'll replace by a 48IDA Weber system. I will also change the cam. I've no idea what cam currently is installed. I bought my Cobra from a guy who imported it from the US. Unfortunately such helpful information like cam specs are missing.

What about torque ? Any dyno results available for your engine ?

im running 44 mm idf's,good for down low but for optimum top end 48's are needed, torque was 450nm it lost 30nm of torque and gained 15kw after i had the heads and manifold ported
