Oil Cooler Hose & Fittings

FOR MY PARTICULAR APPLICATION I WOULD LIKE TO USE BLACK #10 BRAIDED HOSE RATHER THAN THE STAINLESS COVERED. ARE THE PUSH ON CONNECTORS ADEQUITE? THE CATALOGES SAY THEY ARE RATED FOR 300 LBS PRESSURE WHICH I WOULD NEVER EXPECT TO SEE. I'M JUST HAVING A HARD TIME ACCEPTING THE THOUGHT OF USING HOSES THAT ARE NOT CRIMPED. IS ANYONE USING THESE? DO THEY WEEP ANY OIL FILM OVER EXTENDED TIME?? ALSO WHAT BLOCK ADAPTER IS BEING USED TO RE-ROUTE THE HOSE, CURRENTLY USING CANTONS BILLET ALUMINUM PIECE BUT IT SEEMS QUITE HEAVY????

THANKS IN ADVANCE

RICK

Aeroquip's socketless hose is rated for the same tem and pressure as thier stainless hose (aeroquip specs ). I used it for all my fuel lines.

Buddy of mine uses the fabric covered push on style fittings on his sprint car. I like the shiny braided stainless lines myself, with the screw on fittings, they are more abrasive, just like me.

We just finished a car with "OEM" fittings and hoses. I think that the hoses are rated at 500 psi. - industrial grade with swedged-on fittings done by the local Aeroquip dealer.

Bob: Are these hoses "BLUE"? Do you know what series hose and part number for the hose ends are? Looks nice.

Thanks
Rick

This is the "Look" I am after.

Rick,

The hoses are black with a light green stripe.

Sorry - I don't have part numbers, but the hose has "DOT 62543" on it.

Here's a link to EARL's (part of Holley).

I have these fittings and hoses on my oil cooler, not a hint of "weepage". Though these are not "swedged", the EARL's fitting design is just as good in my opinion.

Good luck,
Mike "monster"
