I need a detailed picture of windwing mount

I got the kit from Unique, just like Finishline's, a bag of bolts with no instructions. My kit also has all of the bolts for the visors (which I didn't buy). A good picture would be worth a thousand words. Email me or post it if you have one.

Use some masking tape to cover both sides of your windshield post where you will be mounting your windwings. Get a Sharpie or something good to mark your holes, install the hindges on your windwings and hold them up to the chrome windshield brace. Make sure the back edge of your windwings are parrallel with your windshield on the back side (allow about 1/8" space between your chrome post and the back of the windwing) and at the same time make sure you have about 1/4" space at the bottom of your windwing so it is parrallel with the top of your door. While you are holding your windwing have someone move it left to right and visa versa. If it clears your doors while opening and is flush with your windshield when closed and your gaps remain constant then that is where you want to drill your holes in your windshield post. Mark your holes that need to be drilled and be sure you do not drill too close to your wind shield. Use a center punch once your holes are marked and drill a undersize hole first.

Get a good sharp (NEW) drill bit because the chrome windshield post is all brass and it will ruin a drill bit pretty quick. I will try and post a picture tonight. Good luck.

My windshield is already tapped for the windscreen screws. I need to know how to put together the hinges/mounts.

I just checked my inventory. I have enough extra hardware to mount both of your windwings. I'm driving to GA tomorrow and I'll be happy to meet you at the Pilot station if you'd like some free hardware. Just gimme a call.

Looks like one of those simple "Bolt-ons", doesn't it? Maybe yours will be, and maybe it won't.

The windshield pillar to windwing mounts can be different. They are little 1/2" x 3/4" pieces. Sometimes they are countersunk and angled, sometimes they are countersunk, and straight. Some use 10-24 screws, others 10-32. Some windshield pillars have a slide in brass strap the windwing mounts attach to (which tend to strip rather easily), and some do not.

I purchased a 6' length of 1/2" square T-6066 aluminum from McMaster-Carr to cut 4 ea., 3/4" long pieces for just this reason. If you find yourself in this dilemma, I have some left over.

And...would advise taking your OEM hardware and replacing it with stainless screws, and stainless locknuts. The rust looks tacky on a Cobra, and having your windwings or sun visors vibrating loose on the highway is even tackier.
