Blue Thunder Dual Quad Manifold
I am preparing a dual quad setup for my Cobra and wondered if anyone has used the Blue Thunder Dual Quad manifold with Holley carbs in their Cobra. From the factory, the height of the rear of the manifold measured from the end rail mating surface to the top of the Stelling & Hellings air cleaner is 11 1/4", dangerously close to contacting the underside of my hood. Since the "slope" of the carb mount bosses on the manifold do not match the slope of the motor I was thinking about having some milling work done to the carb mounts to level the Holleys as well as lower the carbs a bit. The manifold looks like it has plenty of meat in the carb mount bosses to allow at least 1/2" to be milled off the rear of the rear carb. I figure to temporarily install the manifold on the motor and then use a level and T square to calculate the amount of material to remove to end up with level carbs. I would like to hear from anyone who has had any experience with what I am talking about. Happy Holidays to all and lots of Cobra parts under your Christmas Trees.

I have a blue thunder dual quad on my 460. No problem with my 1/4" hood clearance, haha. That may be the shell valley 427 S/C body has quite a raised area infront of the windshield.Other bodies may be shorter there. Also if you are running a 351 you can use the edelbrock 302 dual quad by using motorsport port intake adaptors.
