rusty nut buster

Hi all,

This is one i have wrestled with successfully, and not so successfully over the years, and i realize it has pretty much come down to dumm-luck................

I need to replace my p-side exhaust manifold gasket and definately do not want to snap one off in the head trying to remove it (i dont even want to think where that would leave me)

Any tried and true methods out there?

thanks , Karl%/

This works:
Get the stuck fastener hot with a torch, remove torch then hold a candle against the fastener. The wax will creep into the threads and act as a release agent.

I have heard the Kroil brand oil works good for unsticking fasteners too, but I have never tried it.

Not WD-40 !!!

A spray product called
PB Blaster.
Try NAPA or Carquest.
It's all I use.
Cheers,

PB Blaster ROCKS! You will never use WD-40 again! It actually foams up and "eats" the rust away!
