Removing coolant spray from engine bay
Anyone have a great and easy on the elbow grease method of removing coolant/anti-freeze spray from inside the engine bay?
My expansion tank developed a weak weld on one of the hose elbow fittings and has been "spritzing" coolant for several months all over my engine bay. I used elbow grease and water on the hood underside, but as some of you know, antifreeze is a nice gooey, sticky, slimy mess after several months of exposure to air and heat. I was going to start with Simple Green or Greased Lightning (which is more PH neutral) and hose it down. |
Rag sprayed with WD 40?
Worked for me, but I couldn't say if it is the easiest way of all. |
Thanks Wilf. Cheers.

Try a solution of dishwashing liquid (Dawn is pretty good on greasy stuff) and water, perhaps with a bit of lemon juice.

Why not just drive down to the friendly corner self serve car wash and use the spray wand? That has worked for me.
