Intake manifold gasket?

I have a set of Ford GT 40X heads & Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake.

I got a set of Fel-Pro Gaskets # 1250, but the openings seemed a bit small for the Heads?

I exchanged for a set of 1262 Gaskets, but there is no heat opening and the water cross over is configured wrong?

It appears that the 1.28 X 2.10 (1262) vs. 1.2 X 2.00 (1250) would fit the Heads better.

The 1262 R 1.4 X 2.25 seems like it would be too much!

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
George

George,

The 1262R is the right intake manifold gasket for the GT40X heads. These are the gaskets that came on my FMS 392 with the GT40X heads. At 1 point I tried trimming a set of 1250's to fit but it was not worth it. The Ford Motorsports Catalog lists the part number for the GT40X intake manifold gasket as M-9439-A50 which is the 1262R. As stated in the catalog "redesigned for improved port location and allows mild porting". This may be why they seem a bit big.

I am not sure what you mean by no heat opening but if you are referring to the hot air heat crossover in the middle of the head it should be blocked. The 1262 blocks this opening because it is only used to heat up the stock motor faster. But in Hi-Po applications that opening does nothing but keep your intake hotter...don't need that.
