Fuel Tank Suggestions

I need a little input from those in the know.

I have developed a leak in my gas tank (perhaps from last weeks run in Texas). I am still using the Polyethylene tank that came with my B&B but I want to upgrade to a "Fuel Save" or one of the ones that Summit sells. Does anyone have first hand knowledge on the Summit Aluminium Tanks or a recommendation?

Thanks,

Clois

Clois-look it ATL or Fuel Safe web sites. Now is the time for you to go to good fuel cell. Get one with a bladder, that is protected by aluminum or steel case. Get one that meets SCCA or Nascar standards and you can't go wrong.

Wayne,

Just checked with our Fuel Safe and ATL dealers and both prices are over $1000.00 per tank. My question is: Are they really that much better than those in the Summit Catalogue?

Clois- the answer is yes. The big difference is that they have bladders filled with foam. Make sure you go to the sites of Fuel Safe and ATL and read their description of their cells. Vents and filler plates should all have check valves. Don't skimp on your well being and protection.

Also, for just a little more, you can get a cell custom made. Not sure about the B&B, but every "on the shelf" cell out there was too boxy for my CR and would have necesitated cutting up the trunk or hanging down way to low. I went with a custom 21 gallon pro cell from Fuel Safe. Its a work of art.
