Hi i need your help! I have my Johnex DD for sale and have had no feed back on it. I think partly because of John's rep, this is where you come in. If i,am not mistaken you said you have worked on these. could you give your comments on the car and its design.

It's the economy.. I have some stuff for sale not anywhere near as pricey as your car.. lots of lookers but no interest.. Also,
I have noticed a trend here in the club. One car in particular was for sale. Perhaps the nicest most reliable car you can imagine, completely documented, profrssionally built.. The seller was asking a fair price and it took him a long time to sell his car.. It should have been gone in 3 days..

Which sort of leads me to believe alot of people here and elsewhere are being really cautions with their money, and many people who were "rich" on paper and feeling pretty secure are no as secure as they were 3 years ago.

SCOBRAC hit it on the head. Nobody is spending right now. Johnex DD's have a great chassis and a live rear axle which is preferred if you like drag racing. Their body has a good shape too. They have some negative reactions not because of their product, but because of the business dealings of their owner. If put together right, they are nice.

I'm getting SO spoiled as I keep looking at the prices and seeing what a guy can get for his money these days. I've NEVER seen prices as low as they are now.

SPF's are still offered in the mid 40's, I don't know if there bringing that, but prices seem to be holding steady. Kirkhams seem to be falling a little, but just here and there, not in general. There very pricey to start with, so a falling price is "relative". SAI business seems "brisk". You rarely see an ERA at anything I would call a "reduced" price.

Looks like a bit of a "shake out" going on. The high end cars holding their own, and the low end cars dropping like rocks! With careful shopping and patience there are some NICE rides out their in the $25K range!

The market here in Hawaii is very tough. Cobras RARELY come up for sale and are DIFFICULT to sell. BUT, if the price is "good" they go pretty quick. Don't expect to get anywhere near what was "market" price a year ago for an "average" Cobra. Buyers, like me, are hunkering down and waiting to "pounce" when the right car at the right price comes around.

PS. I do not expect to get a Cobra equipped with the stuff on my wish list for $25K, I suspect it will take 35 or better. But, for $25K if I can get "close enough", I might go for it!

I think i am in the right price range for the quality of this car, it is very comparible to the SPF in features and shape. Mr.Fixit thats what i wanted to hear, as i assembled the car with attention to detail and top quality parts with no short cuts.
I was just bored this winter and would like to build another one.

You can if you look. I got my car a year ago December.. I am constantly amazed at the level of detail put into the car and I feel guilty every time I have to wipe something off which I have never really touched before only to find it is hand polished aluminum..

I put on a set of 17" wheels last week and was worried the brake calipers would show.. After wiping off 5 years of neglect imagine my surprise to find not only were they 4 piston Girling but they had been faithfully smoothed and highly polished.. 5 minutes with an aluminum cleaner and they look like a million bucks.. Same thing with the rear control arm mounts.. Covered in grease but completely polished..

I got the car from a guy about to lose his house, not as much for the economy as a drug habit. Ignorance it seems really is bliss.. Having been a life long gear head I knew what it took to put a car together but this car was pretty much a basket case.. I paid accordingly. In perspective perhaps a diamond in the rough.. As it happens I got thcar for about the cost of "used" (worn out) parts..

As it turns out the poorly running engine was a lack of spark rather than a blown head gasket, the parts while they were "used" only have 18k miles since a first class rebuild.. And who knew there would be so much polished aluminum..

I guess if it were me SNKCHRMR I would look at my car as I do my stocks.. You own it, it isn't really going down in value, and if you sell it now you are going to take a bath on it. Wait until it goes up again and then sell it.. Or wait awhile and find someone willing to appreciate what you have..

SCOBRAC,,,,I hear that! I'm looking VERY carefully and optomistic I might find the next one with all the "right stuff" at a great price!

But,,,,,I gotta admit,,,my "wish list" is pretty long, lol.
