Jack/Jack Stand Covers?
Has anyone figured out a good material to cover their jack stands or jacks with which will protect the frame from scratches, etc., but will not compromise the safety of the stands/jack?
Thanks, Mike |
I use a hockey puck on my HP Alum racing jack.

I used the foam sheeting that was available from the shop that did the powdercoating of my chassis. (It was on a roll) I folded it to create several thicknesses of material and folded it over the top of the jackstand and used duct tape to secure it. Seems to work pretty good and leaves no marks on the powdercoating. CHEAP TOO!

For the jackstands, I cut sections out of an old motorcycle rear tire, about 5" long, and slip them over the 4" round frame tubes like a saddle, then center the jackstand under that. It distributes the load, doesn't slip, and doesn't damage my painted frame. They last forever, and don't get cut through like folded rags can.
