starter bit the big one.
the other day i went to hit the starter and it did the classic wuhhh............wuhhhhh.............. i thought it just needed to cool a bit about 10 min later the starter did not disengage nor did the car start.it barely turned over when I released the start switch it stayed engaged and i had to kill the dead man switch to make it stop . now the whole car is dead??? no power im getting a new mini starter but will this be the fix for the power ? my chassi is a unique . Is there a hidden fuse? I'm reluctant to try anything .maybe it was that time i took the battery leads and put them to my toungue to check the batt!! lol kidding.. anyway thanks again guys. your the best!

Fusible link. Usually a short section of wire about 12 gauge (much smaller than the battery cable itself) that provides main power to to the car. It could be bolted to the solenoid along with the positive cable from the battery. The "fusible link" part of the wire is much smaller for a few inches. This part is the "fuse". It is meant to "burn out" before the the "over load" frys everything downstream from it. Finding the dang fusible link, assuming you have one, can be frustrating. Trace the positive cable from the battery, to the solenoid, find the smaller main feed wire from the solenoid and "track it down".
If you have a Chevy motor, the solenoid is on the starter and none of this applies so "go fish", lol. Ernie |
Sure fire test
I agree it may be your fusable link as they can cause all kinds of weird things to happen. As far as testing your battery. Connect a set of good copper cable to the correct posts on the battery. Pour a quart of water on your garage floor. Hook the negative cable to your right thumb and the positive cable to your left testicle while you stand in the water. You will know immediately if your battery is okay.
No thanks are necessary, just trying to help a buddy/ LH |

Smash!!!! OH GREAT Brizz exclames as the wheelbarrow full of ice that carts Brizz's smoldering swollen and still glowing testacle ,ripps the paint from the door jamb entering his home office. Brizz then grimmices as he parks the make shift meat wagon adjacent to the home PC in an effort to approach the key board. As the sound of the ambulance sirene slowy fades into the distance Brizz glances down to wheelborrow once again,He now knows what a walnut would look like if had just survived re entry from outer space.
A cold sweat breaks out as the pain meds fade ,but Brizz manages to type a short message to Club Cobra before he slips into a deep testicular comma. Here it is. BAtTeRY oK.. donT eaT spAAAAAce ............walnUTS.... :JEKYLHYDE DONATIONS TO BRIZZ CAN BE MADE TO THE BALLBGONE FOUNDATION..TY |
