rough Idle

I have a 1994 cobra and have a rough Idle that sometimes causes stalling. I replaced my o2 sensors today and it improved a little bit. I was was wondering if anyone could give me other options. I thought of replacing my tps or iac and doing a tune up. So if it still happens I can rule those out.

Have you scanned the computer for any fault codes? Rather than guessing at which parts to change, this might be a better way to start your troubleshooting.

PS I've found that when the IAC acts up, the idle speed usually just increases.

Check your throttle body - it may just need a simple cleaning.

Hi,
You could check your TPS sensor on the throttle body. It has 3 wires coming out of it[black oval shape]
Witha digital voltmeter , measure the voltage between black wire and green or orange wire[depending what year it is] . I stick a pin through the insulation to do this, with the key on, engine not running.
It should read about .9 of a volt. To optimize the computer you should adjust it to read exactly .997 of a volt. to do this loosen the 2 screws holding the TPS sensor and wiggle it to get maximum reading. If there isn't enough adjustment you can take a drill bit and make the holes in the TPS slightly bigger and try again to get .997 volts. Do not adust it over 1 volt.

How old are your sparkplugs? I almost always start a tuneup by replacing the plugs, you can always use fresher ones, and they'll let you see if you have something else going on.
