Pictures of SPF taller Roll Bar
Hi,
Terry Lee and I both just ordered taller SPF roll bars to meet some track requirements. In addition to seeking ideas for finishing (powder, chrome, brush/clear), I would also appreciate seeing any photos of SPF cars with the taller rollbar as well as any other photos of roll bars (from any manufacturer) with distinctive finishes, or even bare steel with some other kind of protective coating. thanks frank |
Also, will the taller rollbar work with the SPF hardtop on?
|
according to the scof site, yes, it fits under the hard top and soft top. email me if you want the URL.

LS1AC,
thanks for the photos, it looks like it was powder coated silver, do tell, how much is the coating, and what preping do you do vs the coating shop. This roll bar gives the car a more authentic look because the main hoop is more perpendicular to the the car, and the height looks a little more on, the 3rd leg is a little close to the hoop but it's still an improvement in appearance as well as safety. ERA and Kirkham have by far the best roll bar look. |
We have a local shop in Zion Il that will di it for about $45 mine is done in hillbilly chrome (dark silver to match the titanium stripes).
Cost can change depending on prep time of the metal. All mine needed was degrease cleaning. The Zion shop is J+J 847-731-3131 tell them it is for a cobra. There is also a very good shop in Crestwood Il called "Gorilla". They also do ceramic, headers are under $300 again depending on prep.708-388-2898 Just a FYI |
frankym,
I tried to email you via your CC profile but I was told that you did not wnat to receive emails through the board. Can you provide the URL for the taller roll bars? |

Thanks. I like the look better than the original look. It may actually do what a roll bar is suppose to do -- protect the head -- and still look good.
